Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide – Barskdale

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is a private college that has deep connections within the aeronautical industry. Founded in 1926 as a flying school, it was originally an extension of an aeronautical company based out of Ohio. The school began offering classes for pilots, mechanics and others interested in flying, which led to the school launching its own mechanics’ training program and similar programs. Embry-Riddle now has two large campuses in Florida and Arizona, but it also has a Worldwide campus that accepts students from across the country. More than 32,000 students take classes on all three of its campuses every year.

MBA – Aviation

The Barksdale campus of Embry-Riddle University is located on the Barksdale Air Force Base and offers college degree programs at all levels. Its MBA – Aviation program, also called the Master of Business Administration in Aviation program, requires that new students complete 36 credit hours of courses. The university also offers a 4 + 1 program for students who do not have a business degree and did not go to college before, which lets them earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just five years. If you already have a graduate degree, you can transfer up to 15 credits from your former program into this one. Designed for those who want to work in the aviation industry, the program allows students to learn more about budgeting for airlines, working with mechanics and advertising within the aviation field. Embry-Riddle allows students to study accounting, international business, finance and information technology as well.

University of Phoenix

One of the largest and most recognizable chains of colleges in the country today is the University of Phoenix. Founded in 1976 in Arizona, the university offered business programs for working and nontraditional students. UP later moved its headquarters to California and became part of the Apollo Group Education, Inc. chain of schools. Its locations across the state of Louisiana give students the option of taking classes on small local campuses or taking classes online, and students can also take a combination of both types of classes. All UP students can apply for financial aid before starting their classes, and they can meet with an admissions officer before enrolling too.

MBA with Multiple Concentrations

The University of Phoenix started its MBA program as a way to help students who couldn’t attend a traditional MBA program. As one of the MBA degree programs in Louisiana, the university now gives students the right to select from multiple concentrations, take all their courses online, take one or more classes on a local campus and get help completing the program. Those concentrations include accounting, finance, global management, health care management, marketing, technology management and human resource management. There is also a general MBA program available that lets you earn a certificate in accounting. The general MBA program consists of 12 courses on marketing, corporate finance, management, business law and similar topics. Depending on the concentration that you select, you may take three or more electives relating to your concentration. The University of Phoenix charges a tuition cost per credit hour, but the university also charges a small technology fee that applies to any classes you take online.
