Master of Accountancy (MAcc)

Designed to develop tomorrow’s business leaders with advanced accounting expertise and Christ-like character, the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program features an innovative curriculum that educates graduate students with the accounting skills, leadership abilities, and ethical values that will be needed to enhance career opportunities in worldwide organizations. Upon acceptance to the program, students may enter two different stems. For students preparing for a career in providing professional services for firms and corporations, there is a Professional Stem. For those more interested in a career preparing taxes for individuals and/or corporations, there is a Tax Stem. Regardless of the stem chosen, students may also opt to concentrate their graduate studies by choosing an Accounting Information Systems Track or the Ph.D. Prep Track.

Master of Accounting (MAcc)

In preparing graduates to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination in Utah, the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program has been designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, a reputation for sound judgment, and the relevant skills that can be transferable to many accounting settings to succeed in today’s multidisciplinary world. Students can choose an emphasis in Auditing, Tax, or Accounting Information Systems. With a strong emphasis on analytical thinking, professionalism, and communication skills, the program enables students to learn the language of business to achieve a high-quality job placement rate of 95% within three months of graduation. While the 32-credit program can be completed in as little as two semesters full-time, those pursuing the degree part-time will need four semesters.

Along with satisfying the educational requirements needed to take the Utah CPA examination, the program enables graduates to effectively pursue job opportunities as tax professionals in a competitive business world.
